Slowly Falling Sakura

Today as I walked to school, I watched the sakura (cherry blossoms) falling like snow. It is beautiful sight to behold, but also a little sad, for it signals the end of the most beautiful time in Japan. Sakura season is coming to an end.

End of Term Drinking Party

Last week my school had a “goodbye party” for the teachers who are leaving my school. Whenever there is an event of any significance someone will plan a drinking party. Drinking parties are a vital part of Japanese co-worker relations and I was happy to be part of one.
